Preston, Lancashire – Thursday 6th of July 2023 - UCLAN Publishing, the independent children's publisher renowned for its innovative approach and commitment to publishing education, is pleased to announce its membership in the prestigious Northern Fiction Alliance. This alliance of independent publishers based in the North of England is dedicated to reshaping and redefining the UK's literary landscape by championing underrepresented authors and publishers.

Founded in 2016 by Comma Press, the Northern Fiction Alliance has since expanded to include an impressive array of publishers, including Fly on the Wall Press, Peepal Tree Press, And Other Stories, Dead Ink, Saraband, and many others. The alliance's mission is to provide development opportunities, foster international relationships, and elevate the visibility of Northern writing and publishing on a global stage.

UCLAN Publishing's inclusion in the Northern Fiction Alliance marks a significant milestone in their journey to create a trustworthy brand recognized for brilliant stories and immersive non-fiction. With a reputation for excellence and innovation, UCLAN Publishing has quickly gained recognition within the publishing industry, winning the Times Higher Education Award for Excellence and Innovation, as well as the IPG Newcomer Award in 2019.
