The Northern Fiction Alliance introduce isolation initiatives
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the UK and the country’s subsequent lockdown, the publishing industry has been working creatively and collaboratively to support its organisations and its readers with new initiatives that encourage engagement and sales where events have had to cancel, and shops have had to close.
Members of the Northern Fiction Alliance are introducing a range of offers and online activity designed to support our communities and to continue delivering our work to isolated audiences. We have collated these initiatives below and will continue to update this page as more exciting new projects are announced.
And Other Stories
· For each new subscription that they get, And Other Stories will now donate 20% of the subscription price to a bookshop of your choice/wherever you would normally buy your books from: https://bit.ly/3btOaY1
· And Other Stories are going to be asking their authors and translators to record very short readings from their books that they’ll host on their website, Youtube channel and social media – so even those of you who couldn’t have made it to events will now be able to hear their authors (front and backlist) reading from their work. They’re also going to host some live online Q&As, details of which are to be announced.
