Publishing Export Workshop with The Publishers Association

Our NFA workshop will be on Monday 24 September in Manchester at The International Anthony Burgess Foundation, 11am - 4pm.

In partnership with the Northern Fiction Alliance, The PA will be hosting a workshop in Manchester on September 24th for publishers who are new or just starting out in export sales.

You will hear from 3 speakers in this workshop:

A representative from the Department for International Trade who will talk through what government support there is for publishers including how to make the most of Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) grants to exhibit at overseas markets. Jim Hinks, Literature Programme Manager (Wider Europe, Middle East and North Africa), British Council who will talk through the work the British Council does we with writers through cultural programmes (and the opportunities and benefits to UK publishers) as well as how publishers can get involved in scoping trips and open calls, and how to make the most of them. Simon Littlewood, Former International Director of Penguin Random House will give a dedicated session on how to become export ready, from developing an approach through to making and enacting plans. A light sandwich lunch will be provided at the event.

Costs: The event is Free of Charge for members of the PA. £75 + VAT for non-members (redeemable against PA membership fee if you apply for membership within 2 weeks of attending the workshop).
